Distance: 5 miles Location: start at the foot of Eaglecrest Road; finish at the Eaglecrest Lodge Course: up the Eaglecrest Road to the lodge Start Time: 9:00 AM Registration Fee: 6 dollars, including the pancake feed A five-mile fun run with prizes and gift certificates, followed by a pancake feed at the lodge from 9:30 to 11:00, open to everyone. All proceeds support the Juneau Ski Club racing program. |
| History |
A five-mile fun run on Sunday 1 September 1985, starting at 9 a.m. at the foot of Eaglecrest Road and finishing at the Eaglecrest Lodge. Entry was $6, which included the pancake feed served at the lodge from 9:30 to 11:00 and open to everyone. There were prizes and gift certificates. All proceeds supported the Juneau Ski Club racing program. SOURCE: a printed poster is the only record of this running that has been found. It gives the date, time, course, fee and beneficiary, but no finishers - so none are recorded here. This is the earliest running of an Eaglecrest race in the archive; the next held here is 1992. |
