Magnificent Mendenhall Mudpuddle Meet University of Alaska Southeast, Auke Lake campusDistance: 10 miles, with a 2-mile race over part of the same ground Location: start at the corner of Back Loop Road and the University of Alaska Southeast access road behind the library; finish mid-campus, across from the Mourant Building Course: the ten-mile follows Glacier Highway to the Brotherhood Bridge, picks up the bike trail past the post office to James Boulevard, then Mendenhall Loop Road and Back Loop Road to the start line. The two-mile turns the opposite way at Glacier Highway and loops back toward the finish past DeHart's Store. Start Time: 9:00 AM, registration 8:00 to 8:45 in front of the Mourant Building Mostly flat and all on pavement, with some hills in the latter stages. Participants must walk a quarter-mile from the registration tables to the start. Both races are in the Empire Cup Runners Series.
