Magnificent Mendenhall Mudpuddle Meet The Southeast Road Runners' Magnificent Mendenhall Mudpuddle Meet, Saturday 10 May 1997, over a 1.6-mile fun run and a 10-mile run. Glenn Frick took the 1.6-mile outright in 8:49 from the 50-59 group. Harry Johnson of Anchorage won the 10-mile in 57:22 and Cecile Elliott of Gustavus was the women's winner in 1:13:13. The Empire published age-group winners only, not the full field, so the nineteen runners here are the leaders of their bands rather than everyone who finished.
