| Event Description | Four-mile and seven-mile races from the Gold Creek Bridge on Basin Road at 9 a.m. on Saturday 28 June 1997, sponsored by the Southeast Road Runners in memory of Ben Blackgoat, who the Empire reported had died the previous winter while training on the Perseverance Trail. Five dollars preregistered, eight on the day. Recorded from the Juneau Empire's calendar listing; no results were published.
