Veteran's Day 8-K Run Mendenhall River Trail, JuneauDistance: 8 kilometers Location: Mendenhall River Trail, Mendenhall Valley Sponsored by the Southeast Road Runners. Run on what the Juneau Empire called "the new river trail in the Mendenhall Valley" - the Brotherhood Bridge trail the race had moved onto, and which it used for years afterwards. Shawn Miller won in 28:44 from Matt Holbert and Tom Meyer. Shelly Saviers was the first woman home in 35:22, fourteenth overall. Elmer Ignell completed the course in 64:37.
