Treadwell Race Virtual Savikko ShelterSun. Aug. 2 thru Sat Aug. 8, Run 10K or 10 miles on an out and back course from Sandy Beach on the Mt. Jumbo Trail and the Treadwell Ditch Trail. The following description sounds more complicated than it is. The course will be marked with chalk and whatever else we can get away with. Contact the race director with questions. Both courses start and finish on the Historic Treadwell Trail, next to Savikko Shelter No. 2 at Sandy Beach, behind the playground (photo below). This is not the Treadwell Ditch Trail, but the map below shows how you will get to the DitchTrail via the Mt. Jumbo Trail. There will be a chalk mark on the path indicating the start/finish location. The route goes along the trail for a quarter mile before you take a sharp right (photo below). Continue on to St. Anns Avenue, take the first left on Treadwell Street and the first right on Fifth Street. The Mt. Jumbo Trail head is just past the house at 319 Fifth Street (photo below). Climb steeply up the Mt. Jumbo trail. About a mile from the start you will come to a metal pipe followed by some boards (photo below). At the end of that set of boards you will come to the intersection with the Treadwell Ditch Trail. Turn right (heading north). The turn onto the ditch trail is about 1.25 miles from the start. Continue north on the Ditch trail until the turnaround for your chosen distance. The turnaround for the 10k is a quarter mile past the Crow Hill access spur and the 10 mile turnaround is a short distance past the Blueberry Hills access spur. The turnaround locations will be clearly marked. Return the way you came.Keith Levy2020-08-08 06:00:00noyesyesRegistration form for Treadwell Race Virtual
